We were very excited to have the opportunity to completely redesign the website for the Strathcona Food Bank, who celebrated 40 years of dedicated service to the residents of Strathcona County in 2023.
Websites like this have a lot of moving parts and special requirements, so the biggest challenge was to reimagine it in a way that was both visually pleasing/engaging and functional/practical for the wide range of users who depend on their services. We believe the final product achieves these goals while maintaining an inviting & inclusive experience and friendly, approachable aesthetic. Pops of bright colour in conjunction with simple, clean icons & graphic elements are used to highlight and navigate the user to important & useful information throughout the site. Modern interactive elements such as animated stat counters, revolving carousels, popups, and well-organized tabbed content & accordions help to present an otherwise overwhelming amount of content in an intuitive, easy-to-read manner, all while elevating the overall user experience.
Projects for non-profit organizations are always fun & fulfilling and present some unique challenges, especially for ones that are well established and play a vital role in the community(no pressure at all)… and this was no exception!

Hey I’m Nathan, a graduate from MacEwan University’s Design & Digital Media Program with a passion for all forms of creative expression. Visual harmony invigorates me as much as its musical counterpart, and nothing floats my boat quite like a functional, intuitive, and tastefully designed digital experience… although cheesy catch-phrases and alliteration do come frighteningly close. When I’m not bending a plethora of pixels to my will, you’ll be sure to find me playing or listening to music, spending time with my wife & son, and sampling a tasty craft brew or two.
I spent a year living in Hollywood, California to attend music school for drum performance, and if given the chance, I WILL talk your ear off about obscure progressive rock & metal bands.

As an obtainer of rare antiquities, I am enthusiastic about anything made in the ‘30s – ‘40s. When not in the office designing and coding for various projects, I can be found in remote jungles or lost cities looking for valuable treasures. In my down time, you just might spot me hovering around Edmonton fighting crime.
I worked as an illustrator for The Simpsons in South Korea before moving to Canada.
